Welcome to what I believe to be the final installment of the typography-based series of free Friday Wallpapers. Don’t worry, I’ll still do free wallpapers, but I’m not sure entirely what kind next. I’m thinking a calendar one, once a month, come January – but as for weekly, I have no idea. Too many deadlines these days!

Anyway, this week’s is Georgia (regular). The challenge here was to take a font seen all over the place – a font that’s sort of bland – and make it interesting as the sole item in the design. I think it worked! Enjoy, share and subscribe to the RSS feed!

I profiled Blackout in my 10 Free & Amazing Display Fonts article, and decided to use it for this week’s Free Friday Design Wallpaper. Why? Because I’m predictable like that. Anyway, hope you enjoy this week’s version – the thought process was Black = dark, and Blackout = a city without power. Dig it!

Zapfino. Weird name, classy font. It sounds like a 70′s era Batman-punch sound effect. You know – he goes up to the bad guy, and ZAPFINO! knocks him out cold.

Speaking of cold, I think I’m coming down with one, so that would explain why I make no sense. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this installment of the Free Friday Design Wallpaper. If you have any suggestions for future versions, drop me a line – in the meantime, share and subscribe to the RSS feed!

There are a lot of free fonts out there on the internet these days – but tracking down the well-designed ones can be quite the task. Since I’m such a nice guy, I thought I would round up the top ten free display fonts for you! Top ten in my opinion, of course.

All these fonts are free to download and use. They’re not all specifically display fonts, but display use is where they shine. Enjoy, share, and subscribe to the RSS feed!

Here we go!

LEAGUE GOTHIC

League Gothic is sort of a re-issue of a font that recently became public domain. It’s gorgeous & versatile – go pick it up!

FOLK

Playful but still well-designed, the Folk font lends itself great to show posters and organic-style design.

League Gothic is a old-but-now-new again typeface – and it’s free! I absolutely love its styling and versatility. I also couldn’t decide on grey/black or red, so you lucky readers get TWO wallpaper choices this week. I know I know, I’m too kind. Anyway, enjoy, share, and subscribe to the RSS feed!
