Free Friday Design Wallpaper: Georgia

Welcome to what I believe to be the final installment of the typography-based series of free Friday Wallpapers. Don’t worry, I’ll still do free wallpapers, but I’m not sure entirely what kind next. I’m thinking a calendar one, once a month, come January – but as for weekly, I have no idea. Too many deadlines these days!

Anyway, this week’s is Georgia (regular). The challenge here was to take a font seen all over the place – a font that’s sort of bland – and make it interesting as the sole item in the design. I think it worked! Enjoy, share and subscribe to the RSS feed!

Free Friday Design Wallpaper: Blackout

I profiled Blackout in my 10 Free & Amazing Display Fonts article, and decided to use it for this week’s Free Friday Design Wallpaper. Why? Because I’m predictable like that. Anyway, hope you enjoy this week’s version – the thought process was Black = dark, and Blackout = a city without power. Dig it!

Free Friday Design Wallpaper: Zapfino

Zapfino. Weird name, classy font. It sounds like a 70′s era Batman-punch sound effect. You know – he goes up to the bad guy, and ZAPFINO! knocks him out cold.

10 Free & Amazing Display Fonts

There are a lot of free fonts out there on the internet these days – but tracking down the well-designed ones can be quite the task. Since I’m such a nice guy, I thought I would round up the top ten free display fonts for you! Top ten in my opinion, of course.

LEAGUE GOTHIC

League Gothic is sort of a re-issue of a font that recently became public domain. It’s gorgeous & versatile – go pick it up!

FOLK

Playful but still well-designed, the Folk font lends itself great to show posters and organic-style design.
